Website Launch 26th October 2006 Over 50 people gathered at the glamorous Heights Bar in the St Georges Hotel to celebrate the launch of the WLLSTYSG’s Website. With an impressive ‘bird’s eye’ view over London in the background the site went live to the cheers of all those present. Kindly sponsored and hosted by Lawyers In Private Practice the launch of the website is a fantastic and important milestone for the Committee. It was a great evening with a free bar and plenty of opportunity for those Trainee and Young Solicitors present to mix with those representatives of Lawyers In Private Practice and members of the West London Law Society. Without the help of these bodies the WLLSTYG would have not enjoyed the immense success it has done to date. Many thanks to everyone in attendance for making it such an enjoyable evening! |

Chocolate Fountain August 17th 2006 In the first joint-venture of its kind, the West London Law Society Trainee and Young Solicitor Group succeeded in successfully bringing together a group of barristers, sixty or so trainee and newly qualified solicitors, a couple of stock brokers, some financial advisers and, most importantly of all, a four foot chocolate fountain. The result - the Chocolate Bar 2006! Held at the Grand Union Bar in Camden, the event aimed to give various professional disciplines the chance to meet, socialise and dip various things in molten chocolate. As you may expect the event was a massive hit with all those who attended, and a list of the sponsoring Chambers can be found on the sponsorship page of this site. A massive thank-you to both the sponsors and all who attended to ensure the fun, and the chocolate, kept flowing (without even a hint of Oompa Lumpas anywhere!). |

West End Bar Crawl June 1st 2006 For the Group’s first social event it was decided that we needed to keep it simple. It was decided that the best way to bring thirty or so trainee and newly qualified solicitors together was to provide free drinks and pre-planned route of entertaining venues around Marylebone and that proved a very welcome decision! The resulting pub crawl, very kindly sponsored by Lawyers in Private Practice.com, was a resounding success. Once the free champagne came out in the fifth bar of the evening it was generally agreed that all who had attended were thoroughly pleased they’d came. Plans for another bar crawl are already underway, so please watch this space! |
